As the Digital Marketing specialist for the Extras and Models Company, I was brought on board by Bill Starkov, who managed the agency's background actors and models. At the time, the company relied on analog processes for casting, with printed pictures and resumes. With my expertise, I was able to modernize and streamline the business by implementing digital technology, such as fax machines and the internet.
One of my major accomplishments was creating web pages for each actor and model, which prospective directors and casting agents could easily access to view their profiles and portfolios. This digitized the casting process and enabled us to quickly and efficiently provide directors with the specific type of talent they needed for their projects. We were able to outpace other casting agencies, even though digital casting was not yet a common practice. With our new digital system in place, clients would receive an email with the potential actors and models that met their criteria, and they could select the ones they wanted by checking a box. Our team would then contact those selected for the job, and they would receive all the details they needed. Our efficiency increased to the point where we had to abandon the fax machine and move solely to email correspondence. The results were impressive, with the company's revenue increasing by over 500% after the implementation of the digital casting system. They no longer needed to spend time managing large printed pictures on walls, as the entire process could be done from the comfort of an office or home. Thanks to the successful implementation of digital technology, the Extras and Models Company became a leading agency in the industry. |
