"From Band to Business" series, I developed a project called "The Concert Demo" which aimed to teach young independent bands and unsigned artists how to promote their music using online platforms. Many bands make the mistake of simply uploading their tracks to third-party websites like SoundCloud or Spotify and assuming that it's enough for promotion. In the concert demo video, I showed them the correct way to promote their music by selecting their three best tracks, putting them together in one single track, and including their band name and contact information at the beginning and end of the track. This way, when the track is played on these third-party websites, the listener knows the name of the band, the website, and where they can find more of their music. Through this project, I was able to help many young bands and artists improve their online promotion and reach a wider audience.
