I was hired as the marketing and advertising manager for an up-and-coming online gambling website, back when online gambling was still not completely legal. My task was to create enough buzz and interest in the website so that larger companies would eventually buy them out for a profit. To accomplish this, I came up with several advertising methods that made us impossible to ignore.

One of my best ideas was to create $25 poker chips with the website's name on them, which were redeemable for $25. We dropped these chips all over the Las Vegas strip and Fremont Street, and people everywhere were picking them up like actual money. Once they realized they could redeem the chips on our website, they signed up in droves. After over 60,000 people had signed up, the online casino and sports book was acquired by a very large physical and online casino company.

Some of the events we planned to promote the website included fan parties where we would send a pizza to people's houses if they placed a couple of bets, or hosted events in actual casinos. We also had events for certain football or baseball games, where attendees could receive a free $25 chip and giveaways of memorabilia, tickets to events, and even season tickets. Overall, my advertising and marketing strategies helped create enough buzz for the website to become a success, and it was eventually bought out for a profit.
